College bunting says thanks to Mums, Dads, Grandparents and Carers
In the spirit of Mother’s Day, students at Strangford College have been reflecting on the support and guidance they have received from those at home over lockdown. Instead of focusing on what has been lost in these past months, they have taken time to think about what has been gained, and expressed their gratitude by writing messages of thanks on bunting that extends across the school railings.
Over 400 messages to parents, grandparents, siblings and guardians stretches along Main Street, Carrowdore reminding the community of the school ethos “better together.” As the integrated college eagerly anticipates the return of students in the coming weeks, the display is a fitting tribute to all parents and guardians who have buoyed students in recent months and encouraged them in their learning.
Principal, Mrs Foster said, ‘I would like to offer thanks to everyone in our College community for their continued support in helping us to keep our students happy, safe and learning through these very challenging times. We miss them all and are eagerly looking forward to welcoming them back to the College.’
